Each model has a different weight. Every message you send is counted against your 4-hour allowance based on the weight of the model you selected.

+What's included in each plan?
Plus covers limited ChatGPT Plus usage with image generation, file uploads, internet search and file creation. Pro adds daily usage across GPT-6 Astra, Grok 4, Gemini 3.1, Claude 4.5 Sonnet and Perplexity, plus voice, no ads and Deep Research. Ultra adds GPT-6 Pro, Claude 4.7 Opus, more generous limits and faster responses. Ultra Max doubles Ultra's limits, adds every exclusive model including GPT-6, and raises priority, storage and context.
+How are message limits counted?
Each plan has an allowance per rolling 4-hour window: 50 on Plus, 100 on Pro, 210 on Ultra and 520 on Ultra Max. The window refreshes continuously rather than resetting on the hour.
+What does model weight mean?
Every model has a weight. When you send a message, it's counted against your allowance based on the weight of the model you selected — a light model costs less of your allowance than an advanced reasoning model. Each model's exact weight is listed in the model directory above.
+Which models can each plan use?
Every model in the directory lists the plans it's available on. Lighter chat models are on every paid plan; the heavier reasoning and Pro models are limited to Ultra and Ultra Max. Filter the directory by plan to see exactly what a tier unlocks.
+Can I use image generation?
Yes — image generation is included on every plan. Ultra adds more generous image limits and models like Flux 2, Nano Banana Pro, Midjourney and GPT-Image-1.5; Ultra Max expands the image quota further.
+Can I upload files?
Plus includes 5 file uploads per day. Pro, Ultra and Ultra Max include file upload and processing without that daily cap, and Ultra Max increases the file-upload limits further.
+Is Deep Research available?
Deep Research is not on Plus. It's available in a limited form on Pro, and fully included on Ultra and Ultra Max.
+Which plans have voice chat?
Advanced voice conversations are included on Pro, Ultra and Ultra Max. Plus does not include voice chat.
+What happens when I reach my message limit?
You wait for your rolling 4-hour window to free up capacity, or move to a higher tier for a larger allowance. Choosing a lighter model also stretches the allowance you have.
+What does “Coming soon” mean?
Video generation and music generation are marked Coming Soon on Ultra and Ultra Max — they're planned for those tiers but not live yet. They are not part of Plus or Pro.
+Can I upgrade my plan?
Yes. Accounts activate instantly and automatically. If you're already subscribed and move up to Ultra Max, you pay the difference to upgrade.
+Does Ultra Max have a one-time option?
Alongside the monthly price, Ultra Max offers lifetime and 5-year one-time access.
